SUMMARY:Working Equitation Obstacles Clinic with Chris Stanko
DESCRIPTION:What is Working Equitation? \n\n\n\nWorking Equitation is a dynamic and elegant equestrian discipline that showcases a horse and rider’s versatility\, partnership\, and skill across a variety of tasks inspired by traditional ranch and fieldwork. \n\n\n\nIt originated in Europe—especially Portugal\, Spain\, France\, and Italy—as a way to honor and preserve classical riding traditions used in everyday ranch work. Today\, it’s practiced worldwide and is open to all breeds and riding styles\, including both English and Western. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet Chris Stanko\n\n\n\nChris specializes in Working Equitation\, in-hand work\, Classical Horsemanship\, the Art of Garrocha\, and Western Dressage\, with an emphasis on correct biomechanics for both horse and rider. A Level 5 competitor\, Chris has trained the full range of movements required at the highest levels of the sport. \n\n\n\nChris has organized and managed all aspects of Working Equitation shows and clinics\, designed numerous courses\, and regularly teaches throughout Colorado. She believes Working Equitation is one of the best forms of cross-training for any horse\, in any discipline. \n\n\n\nHer training philosophy emphasizes patience\, relaxation\, and a supportive learning environment. Chris encourages riders to slow down\, build a solid foundation\, and prioritize connection and understanding over quick results. “Relaxation is the key to riding Working Equitation with finesse and grace\,” she says. \n\n\n\nAbove all\, Chris is a lifelong student of the horse. She continues to pursue her own education and development\, always seeking new ways to deepen the partnership between horse and rider. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHave Questions?\n\n\n\n\nAndrea Mahaffey(970) 481-0251equestrian@sidneypeak.com \n\n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSidney Peak Ranch Equestrian Center32390 Co Rd 14\, Steamboat Springs\, CO 80487 \n\n\n\n\nMAPS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClinic FAQ\n\n\n\n\nDo I need to be a boarder at Sidney Peak to participate? \n\nNo\, all are welcome to join the clinic even if you are not a boarder.
