June 21 @ 8:00 am – June 22 @ 6:00 pm
Who is Brooke Centrella?
Brooke is a classically trained Pilates instructor and Grand Prix Dressage rider & coach. Certified through The Pilates Guild® and The New York Pilates Studio® with 17 years teaching experience with a focus on working with equestrians.
Over her dressage career, Brooke has had the incredible opportunity to train under top judges and Olympic dressage riders. Successfully competing in Young Riders with her mount Kindred, she moved on to training her own horse Provinciano through FEI Grand Prix. Currently, she competes her stunning mare, Belle Ami, in FEI I1.
Her pilates business, Pilates In Motion LLC, is focused on equestrians and the unique needs of having dynamic balance on a moving animal. Her sessions focus on developing a balanced seat, creating clear aids, and facilitating rider confidence through balance and stability. Whether you’re a casual rider looking for a bit of help developing your balance or a professional looking to fine tune your body and aids, Brooke can help!
We will be offering two different options for our riders in this clinic. On Saturday morning, we’ll be offering a small group pilates mat session with a maximum of 5 students geared towards riders as well as the Pilates in the Saddle.Â
In the Pilates in the Saddle Clinic at Sidney Peak Equestrian Center, Brooke will be working with each rider individually to help you meet your particular goal. Each session begins with a mat session to help you find your center on your own two feet before getting in the saddle and applying those skills. Your mat session typically lasts and hour (and don’t worry, it is gentle enough that you won’t be knackered before you get in the saddle) followed directly by a 45 minute ridden session with Brooke. There are only 8 sessions available.
If you want to learn more about Brooke and what she can do for you, please visit her website at www.pilatesinmotionllc.com.
Auditors welcome for the ridden portion of each session, a schedule will be published a week before the event.
Sessions Expectations
Each Session is 1 hour and 45 minutes long. The session begins with a 45 minute one-on-one mat pilates session with Brooke followed by an hour in the saddle. The Sidney Peak staff will coordinate with you to have your horse ready for you after your mat session.
Mat sessions focus on straightening and lengthening your body and is not necessarily focused on strength so that when you get in the saddle you are centered and not exhausted. This is not your gym’s pilates class!
